Naugles was a Southern California fast-food Mexican restaurant chain that existed from 1970 to 1995. A revived Naugles chain was established in 2015 by entrepreneur Christian Ziebarth, after it was ruled that the trademarks had been abandoned by the original company's successor, Del Taco.

Taco Bell was just named the best Mexican restaurant in the United States, according to a nationwide customer survey of people's favorite brands. The Harris Poll, surveyed more than 77,000 customers on over 3,000 brands to determine what everyone loved the most. Taco Bell beat Chipotle, Baja Fresh, Del Taco, and Qdoba.

Now serving the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, El Fenix is a living legend of modern-day food operations. Miguel Martinez once told his children, “To succeed you must work hard.” Living proof of Miguel's wisdom, the family is proud of the fact that they are the oldest Mexican restaurant chain in the United States.

Pew counted 788,018 restaurants operating nationwide, based on SafeGraph's data as of March 23, 2023. Of the more than 80,000 restaurants serving Mexican food, 51 percent are in California, Texas, Illinois, New York and Florida. Mexican food is overrepresented in Hispanic cuisine offerings.
